Instructions for hand washing & disinfection

According to CDC guides. Recommendations published on October 25, 2002; categorized based on existing scientific data, applicability and economic importance.

When they are visibly dirty or contaminated with body fluids, it should be done with water and antiseptic solution (de-contamination).

Before and after contact with a patient.

Before and after the use of gloves when an intravascular catheter is inserted; place a bladder catheter, endotracheal intubation or other invasive technique that is not a surgical procedure.

After coming into contact with patient emuntories or with non-intact skin or mucous membranes.

After performing patient hygiene.

Before and after contact with inanimate medical objects that have close contact with the patient.

When they are not visibly dirty, an alcohol-based antiseptic can be used.
