As the saying goes, diseases come from the mouth. In our daily life, we must pay attention to food hygiene, otherwise bacteria and viruses will enter the body and cause diseases. So in life, how should we pay attention to food hygiene? In response to this problem, I will propose several methods below, hoping to help you.

The first good way to pay attention to food hygiene in daily life is to develop a good habit of washing hands before meals. Our hands are exposed to all kinds of dirty things every day, and carry germs and other substances. We should wash our hands carefully with soap before eating, so as to reduce the possibility of germ infection.

washing hands with hand soap

The second best way to pay attention to food hygiene in daily life is to clean them when eating fruits and vegetables. During the growth and picking of fruits and vegetables, they will not only be contaminated with dust and bacteria, but also have residual pesticides and pesticides. If you eat it without washing it, it will cause disease and even serious poisoning.

Dispenser installed besides Fruit

The third good way to pay attention to food hygiene in daily life is to not eat wild vegetables, wild fruits and wild mushrooms casually when playing in the wild or outing It is difficult to identify people, and ensuring their own safety is the first priority.

The fourth best way to pay attention to food hygiene in daily life is not to eat rotten food. Don’t eat rotten and spoiled food for the sake of food conservation. The taste of rotten and spoiled food changes due to the proliferation of bacteria, or even emits a peculiar smell. Eating rotten and spoiled food is likely to cause food poisoning, and the gain is not worth the loss.

People not washing their hands after going to the toilet, rather than undercooked meat, is behind the spread of a key strain of E. coli.

That’s according to a new study published in Lancet: Infectious Diseases. In it, a team analysed 20,000 human faecal samples and 300 blood samples plus hundreds of sewage samples, animal slurry and meats including beef, pork and chicken – as well fruit and salad.

One strain – ST131 – was seen in the majority of human samples from all three sources. It is found in the gut but can, usually via urinary tract infections, cause serious infections.

However, the strains found in meat, cattle and animal slurry were mostly different.

Prof David Livermore, from the University of East Anglia’s Norwich Medical School, who led the research, said: “Critically – there’s little crossover between strains from humans, chickens and cattle.
“Rather – and unpalatably – the likeliest route of transmission for ESBL-E.coli is directly from human to human, with faecal particles from one person reaching the mouth of another.”

He said maintaining food hygiene was still important – people should handle raw meat carefully, not least because there are other strains of food poisoning bacteria that come through the food chain.
But he added: “Here – in the case of ESBL-E.coli – it’s much more important to wash your hands after going to the toilet.

“It’s particularly important to have good hygiene in care homes, as most of the severe E.coli infections occur among the elderly, and people may need help going to the toilet.”
