How to do prevention in the first school season
The Chinese new year holiday is over, and the winter vacation is also coming to an end, students are going to back to school.
In China, although the epidemic is well controlled, we don’t need to worry too much about the new crown virus, but we still need to pay attention to the children’s food, clothing, housing and transportation after school, because every corner of the classroom will inevitably exist Harmful bacteria endanger the health of children.
According to the “Survey on the Status of Freshmen in Chinese Urban Kindergartens”, 88% of children will have various symptoms at the beginning of school; 50% of children will get sick after school; 44% of children will get sick more than 3 times in the first semester. Children are very susceptible to infection with germs and viruses, and those infected are more likely to become spreaders. In the face of the arrival of the new school term, how should we protect ourselves to avoid cross-infection?
In order to protect the health and safety of children, the “dirty” places in the following schools require special attention.
Stair handrails and door handles
Stair handrails and various door handles in the teaching building have become the hardest hit areas for bacteria. Harmful bacteria such as E. coli and Klebsiella can cause colds, diarrhea, food poisoning and other diseases.
Many students have not developed the habit of washing their hands after playing outdoors. When they touch their hands full of bacteria to the handrails of stairs or door handles of classrooms, many harmful bacteria will be left behind. Therefore, whether it is a school or an elevator handrail in a public space, direct hand contact should be minimized.
Desk desktop
Children like to write and draw on the desk. They also like to eat and sleep on the desk. The desk is an item that children can’t live without in class, and it is also the place where they touch the most with their hands.
Although the desks and chairs will be disinfected before the beginning of school, they are still prone to accumulate and hide bacteria, including pathogenic bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Candida albicans. Therefore, a pack of disinfectant wipes can be placed in the schoolbag for the child to urge the child to wipe the tabletop regularly.
Faucet and sink
The school is a public place, crowded and mixed, students will touch the water hose when washing their hands. Medical research has found that faucets and sinks are hotbeds for the intensive propagation of influenza viruses, salmonella bacteria, and E. coli, and it is easy to enter them accidentally.
At the same time, the use of dryers in public places, including schools, should be reduced as much as possible, because there are a lot of harmful bacteria hidden inside the dryer, so after washing your hands, you should finally wipe your hands with paper towels.
In addition to buying products with antibacterial functions, as parents, we should always remind children to pay attention to the following points:
Wash hands frequently: Effectively hinder the spread of bacteria and viruses.
As the saying goes, “Illness comes from the mouth”, and good hand hygiene can effectively prevent the new crown. As autumn approaches, respiratory diseases frequently occur. Washing hands frequently can also prevent respiratory diseases. So washing hands is actually a way to save worry and money, especially before meals and after going to the toilet. Eat a reasonable diet and avoid food accumulation.
Now, many kindergartens have four or even five meals a day. Breakfast, snacks, lunch, afternoon tea, etc., for fear that the children will not eat well, and some children even have to add meals when they go home. So many children get sick easily after school starts, which has a lot to do with diet.
Traditional Chinese medicine says: Righteousness is stored, evil cannot be done. If you want your child to be less sick, you must take good care of your child’s spleen and stomach and control your child’s diet.
There is a big temperature difference between morning and evening, keep warm and avoid catching cold.
Parents can bring their children an extra coat when sending their children in the morning, so that the children can wear them when the temperature is low when going to and from school.
At the same time, they should also pay attention to let the children cover their clothes or blankets during the lunch break. When the new semester is coming, let the children welcome the new semester with a happy attitude.
At the same time, it is necessary to give enough time for the children to adjust, so that they can gradually familiarize themselves with the environment and face the new campus life positively and optimistically.
